Letter to my child: an illustrated book to tell them what matters
Some things are hard to say out loud and easy to write. A letter to your child, staged in an illustrated book, keeps what you want them to know, at birth, at 18, when they leave home. The two heroes are a parent and their child, drawn from two photos.

Why a letter, and why a book
A letter is read once, sometimes twice. An illustrated book gets reopened: the child leafs through it at 7, comes back to it at 18, rereads it at 30. It tells what you lived together and what you want to say, in scenes and in words.
The creation flow offers a "Letter to my child" occasion, which steers the story toward that direct address. It isn't a template book where a name is swapped: the story starts from what you tell us.
The occasions
- ✦ A birth: what you felt while waiting, the big day, what you wish for them. See our illustrated new baby gift page.
- ✦ An 18th birthday: the road traveled, childhood memories, what you leave them as baggage.
- ✦ Leaving home: studies, a first apartment, a new city. A book that goes in the suitcase.
- ✦ No reason at all: an ordinary day when you just want to tell them what you think.

What to tell
- ✦ The wait or the first meeting: what you saw, what you felt.
- ✦ Their firsts: a word, a step, a sentence that made you laugh.
- ✦ A memory only you know: a night, a drive, a conversation.
- ✦ What you admire in them: with an example, not an adjective.
- ✦ What you hope: without pressure, without a mission.
The method in the guide what to write in a couple book adapts: a first meeting, a few chosen moments, one precise detail for each.
Dedication phrase ideas
A dedication can be added and printed in the book: just write to us after you order. A few ideas, in two or three sentences:
- ✦ "For [name], born on [date]. Before you, there were two of us. Here is our story, so you know where you come from."
- ✦ "To you, who made me a parent. I don't know everything, but I know this: I'm proud of you."
- ✦ "For your 18th. Open it on the days you doubt."
- ✦ "You're leaving. This book is going with you."

How to prepare the book, step by step
- Choose the style. The free preview shows the duo drawn before you order.
- Add two photos: one of you, one of your child, faces sharp and front-facing.
- Tell the story. A questionnaire guides you: where, when, what makes you laugh, the moments to keep. Ten to fifteen minutes is enough.
- Review. You have 48 hours to read the book and ask for changes. Nothing is printed without your approval.
The book always keeps two heroes; other people are mentioned in the story, with their names and running gags.
